I am the wife of a former Marine and a mother of 2 beautiful children. I have a 5 year old daughter who started Kindergarten this year and a 16 month old son who has a medical disorder called CCAM. Which means there are cysts on the lungs, in his case he just has cysts on his left lung. My pregnancy was not very fun, the year before my husband and I buried a son that was born 4 months premature and was a still born. I got pregnant with our son just 3 short months after our tragic loss and was on complete bed rest from Dec 07-June 08. He was born 4 weeks early due to me having heart problems but he was born a whopping 6lbs 13oz for being a preemie. He only spent one night in the NICU and he was released from the hospital before I was. If you saw him you wouldnt think there could be anything wrong with him because he appears to be a very healthy and a very active little boy. But because of his disorder and me with heart problems now I do stay home to take care of him. Our biggest concern with him is to make sure that he doesnt get sick but because of the CCAM he is also more susceptible to get sick and if he gets sick it can be dangerous for him and even deadly. I guess I have done a pretty good job of keeping him healthy even with a child in school because he has only had to be hospitalized once since he was born. Our biggest obstacle is not having a car to get to and from the doctors office and school. Neither my husband or I have any family here the closest is about 8 hours from us, so for transportation we have had to rely a cab , which can get expensive. We do have awesome neighbors who , when home, help out by taking us to the grocery store and such. This time last year my husband was working for the oil fields driving a belly dump and building pads for the rigs and come December when oil prices went down he was laid off.We ended up having to leave our house the town we lived in sell one of our cars and let the other one go back and move to a city in hopes of finding work and up until recently he wasnt able to secure steady employment. The starting pay is just a little over minimum wage but they have hopes for him that in a year or more he will be able to make a salary and run his own crew.There is just a whole lot of training and time he will have to put in to be ready for that.He also needs a way to make sure he gets to work every day so that he can accomplish his goal with this company.Update:For now my husband is out of work again. He still has a job with the company , work is just slow and since he is the newest one there they said it may be a few months before they will have work for him again. Back to square one again. I didnt think there was a chance of getting a reliable family vehicle for a long time until I saw this site.I thank you for this opportunity and we will just keep on praying in hopes that we will be able to get a vehicle for our family and maybe a job from this site as well.
