Hi friends, most of you already know my story but I wanted to rewrite it and add some more details so here it is, thank you for reading ....... I’m the mother to three beautiful children!!! My oldest daughter Jayla is 6, my son Isiah is 5, and my youngest daughter Breona is 4. Growing up I seen my mother abused and now as an adult I find myself in an abusive marriage. When I was 18 yrs old I got married and my husband joined the military. Shortly after we moved to Germany, it was my first time ever traveling anywhere. After two months of living there, my husband was deployed to Iraq. I was 8 months pregnant with my third child and had a 1 and 2 yr. old. I had no friends, no family, and no help. I gave birth while my husband was in Iraq. When our baby was 3 months old I got a phone call saying my husband was in the hospital because he had some kind of nervous breakdown and he been brought back to Germany. I didn’t expect what I seen when I got to the hospital. It was not my husband. He wouldn’t look me in the face, barely talked, cried non-stop, scary is the only way I could describe it. The military flew him to Walter Reed Army Hospital in D.C. But I could not leave Germany because my baby was born there and needed a passport and paperwork from the US Consulate. That took about 3 months. The whole time my husband was in the hospital being treated for mental issues. Within the first week that I arrived in D.C. the physically abuse started. I was completely shocked and in disbelief. At that point he couldn’t return to full duty so he was assigned to work at Walter Reed. That’s when the abuse got non-stop. He would beat me and not let me leave the bedroom. NOT the man I married at all!!! But I thought I needed him I was afraid I couldn’t support my kids and give them a good life without him. The abuse got worst and worst. It went from the bruises being in places I could cover to my face and neck eventually he started forcing me to have sex. After three years, I got finally got the courage to call the military police. I had to for my babies. That night my husband beat me, sexually assaulted me, and held a knife to my throat in front of our then 3 yr daughter. I’ll never forget the words that came out my baby’s mouth “Please daddy don’t kill mommy I love her”, I knew I had to break the cycle of violence in my family. So I called the military police and we have been separated since that night. I have enrolled in college and I’m VERY PROUD to say, that I have a 4.0 GPA and will graduate in Dec. My husband is facing charges in the military but its been over a year since that night, nothing has happened. Even though we are not together he continues to control and abuse me. A couple months into the separation, he took my car which was in both our names back to the dealership because I didn’t have any money to make the payments. Which of course he knew because I was a stay at home mom. He did it because he didn’t want me to have transportation and he has succeeded! I need to get a job but its hard without a car. I have no family where I live, no one to turn too. I really want to start a new life with my children so they can grow up in a safe environment. I’m always afraid when he comes around, I never know when he will flip out. This car is my beginning!!! He took the car from me thinking he could hold back, keep me in his control, but if anything he has only slowed me down. I’m DETERMINED to get a job and support myself and give my beautiful babies the best life I can!!!!! I know if I’m hurting they are hurting too. I won’t allow them to hurt anymore. After all that I’ve been through these past 4 yrs. I think I’m the strongest I’ve ever been and nothing going to stop me now!!!!! So PLEASE vote for me, this car will help me get a job, a new life for my babies, and completely free from abuser!!!!
