Hello my name is michelle and i'm going to tell you a story about my mother della aka kathy and why i feel she is deserving of a charity car. My mother was married in her 20's she had her first child kristi my sister and She is a mother to 6. My sister kristi was born with cancer "retinablastoma" which at that time did not have a high survival rate because they didnt understand much about her type of cancer. Though the odds were against her, my mother had her faith and put my sister fate into gods hands and said "i thank you for this child you have blessed me with and i understand she is a gift .. i dont want her to suffer so may your will be done." She prayed night and day and while everyone had lost faith she didn't. My sister went though over 40+ surgeries but survived and the doctors found the marker on the gene that caused the cancer because of her. Thoughout my mothers life she has always had a positive attitude though life has thrown her bad situations one after another. My moms story doesn't end there my sister kristi who was left blind due to her cancer retinablastoma which first robs you of your eyesight then spreads to the brain and spine. now has 3 girls 2 of which now have the same cancer she does and the third eldest has a.d.d once again my mom has made it a point to save their lives and not give up on them. she is without a car and travels by bus and train all day rain or shine starting at 5 am to get them to school-10pm helping them with homework or appt.. she makes frequent trips to la child hosp. for the girls treatments they are in remission but must keep going due to the cancer possibly coming back in another part of their body and making sure the tumors stay dead. this is extremely hard on my mom physically and mentally being shes in bad health and because she had to leave her job, has no health care she must rely on the free clinics which have not really helped her much. she has pre cancer on her forehead in many places a bad heart and multiple other health issue that make life hard for her but her love for these girls keep her alive. I feel my mom is giving her life up for these girls and will never stop until one day it finally kills her. I just want to make her last days on this earth as easy as possible for her if she had a car they wouldn't need to be on the train/bus late at night multiple times a week. The girls work studies are also being affected because of all of their Dr. appt's and it would help free up some time for their studies. Im not given enough words to write to tell you of all the people lives my mother has touched over the years. I wish i could but just know she would give a stranger the shirt off her back in the snow if she had too. I pray people will help in my fight to earn a decent running car for my mother and my nieces. She's given so much i really feel its her turn to be thanked for all that she has been through and done. Thank you for your time it means alot god bless!
