My Story

*****YOU'LL FIND MY UPDATE AT THE END OF MY STORY, THANK YOU*********************************************************Since being on FCC, I decided to shorten my story here and it's pretty in-depth, so I will give you a portion of why I'm here. My complete story with details is in my application. ***My Story***to break it down, I am in need of a car, just like many of you. I am a single mom with three little girls, ages 7,8,9. I have to admit that I have gone through a lot. Went through a marriage filled with verbal and physical abuse. My ex-husband left me and my girls with no food, no money, no car. At that time I was dependent of him being a stay-at-home mom. It was an eye-opener to finally leave him. In exchange for my children's happiness, I separated and divorced. Stayed in a shelter for one night, man what a humbling experience, to feel like your life is in the hands of strangers. It's been a hard road for me and my girls, but I am thankful though that I've overcome many obstacles, but yet facing new obstacles everyday. After escaping that horrible marriage, I was left to begin my own life with my kids. I went back to my airline job and taking a pay-cut, I found myself struggling financially due to the economy. But, yet still thankful for having any job. My heart and prayers go out to those of you who are going through the same difficulty, but especially those who are sick and afflicted. If you're on my friend's list, then I have read your story and you have all inspired me. Finding freecharitycars.org is truly an answer to my prayers. I am sharing my story because I know my children deserve a car. I've been without a car before and I know it is so hard. My children have seen too much heartache through their young lives during my marriage and also now being in this financial stump. They keep me going and keep me uplifted each day. I am the bread winner and I have to work, as well as to get my children to school, doctor, church and any other place. My mother suffered multiple strokes, as well as kidney failure and so she has dialysis 3 times a week, which I take turns with my sister driving her there. So, a car would be a blessing for me and my family. I have a car right now, but due to circumstances, I will be losing it soon. I am here in FCC hoping for a dream to come true. I feel that I have been blessed either way just for having my kids in my life because they keep me going. That's the bright side to my story. Where would I be without my kids? Nowhere! I'd be lost. Everything I do is for my kids and I know there are thousands of moms and dads who feel the same way about their children. I've lost three family members, my dad, little brother and sister, all due to heart problems and I pray that I will have continued health to support my family. I believe that the hardships I've gone through happened undoubtedly, to make me stronger and wiser. The Lord works in mysterious ways and I have to stay positive for my kids. Since finding FCC, my prayers have included everyone who are going through some struggles, healthwise and financially. I believe that if anyone in FCC has a story to share, then they are very deserving of a dream to happen for them simply because its not easy to share your hardship with the world. That is why I have made it a commitment to vote for all my friends daily. It's not easy because I don't have a computer at home and my shared computer time is limited, but I will get to as many people as I can, hopefully when I'm done, I have voted for all my friends. And, if I miss u, then please let me know. May you all find that shooting star you've always waited for. God Bless u all!!*******************************************************************UPDATE 01/09/09: WELL, ME AND MY KIDS WALKED TO MOMZ HOUSE TO GET MY DAILY RIDE TO WORK AND IT WAS SO COLD, BUT I MADE SURE MY KIDS WERE DRESSED VERY WARM BEFORE WE STARTED WALKING. GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND MUCH LOVE FROM ME AND MY GIRLS. 12/31/09: JUST REFLECTING BACK AT ONE OF MY MESSAGES I GOT AND WANTED TO SHARE IT WITH YOU ALL. THE WORDS THAT WERE KINDLY WRITTEN IS AN EXAMPLE OF HOW IMPORTANT WE TREAT OTHERS.**************I think that there are many people who have cold hearts and blind eyes who choose not to see others suffering and/or do not know how to show kindness. Thank God for those (such as you) who make up for these people and show a little love and kindness when others need it. My Mama taught me that God is always watching and that those in need may be Angels who are placed in our paths to test us to see if we are doing as Jesus taught us and following Gods commandments; We should treat others as we would want to be treated. When it is time for us to face God all our acts/deeds recorded during our life on earth will be reviewed and judged. I believe that our acts of kindness will be repaid back to us. Thank you for your act of kindness, I am sure you will be blessed because of it. May God watch over you and your family and answer all you prayers. Barbara**********************************HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE. MAY YOU ALL BE BLESSED WITH HEALTH AND HAPPINESS THIS COMING YEAR 2010. MY PRAYERS CONTINUE TO BE WITH FCC AND THE CHARITABLE CAUSE THAT EMBRACES MANY PEOPLE. MUCH LOVE FROM ME AND MY GIRLS. GOD BLESS U AND BE SAFE***********************************MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! MAY YOUR HOLIDAY BE SAFE AND JOYOUS!! Just and update on that rude nurse, I did report her evil treatment of this elderly woman to a doctor at the facility and to her supervisor. I appreciate all of ya'll for your messages about this sad incident. 12/22/09: Well, today I took my mom to dialysis. She was there for 4hrs. While sitting in the lobby, I was saddened by a disturbing incidence of an ederly woman being mistreated. While she was awaiting to go in, sitting on her wheelchair, she was eating some crackers and drinking a cup of coffee. When the nurse came out for her, she appeared to be bothered that this lady was eating and had some of her things out of her bag on the chair in front of her. She told this elderly woman, "you have all your stuff all over the place, you always do and as soon as your done putting them in your bag, you can make your way to the back." Then the nurse walked away leaving this woman in the lobby. I was shocked at how she spoke to this woman and watched to see if this lady could wheel herself to the back. She quietly, started pushing the wheels of her wheelchair. My heart was so saddened because when I looked down at her feet, and noticed that her left leg was amputated and her right foot looked deteriorated. I then got up and told her, "I'll push you to the back." She had a big smile on her face and expressed how grateful she was. I asked the nurse, "did I hear you correctly for this lady to make her own way to the back?" And, she said sarcasticly, "yes, she always does that." I told her, "well, I hope you don't ever treat my mom that way because you'll have to answer to me." **Pondering on this holiday season, acts of kindness is what awakens our spirit. What does it cost to treat someone with a bit of kindness? It costs nothing. At this time of year when family is so important, remembering that some people have nobody to spend Christmas with. Since being in FCC, I've felt the spirit of kindness, so I wish those who have not visited this website may do so, so they can be inspired by all the stories to show a little kindness to someone. I'm thankful to be in FCC and to meet such wonderful and kind people. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL AND HAPPY NEW YEAR. 12/16/09: First of all, I want to thank Brian and his team for the efforts and work that you do. You are truly a blessing for all of us here seeking your help. I appreciate all those who have voted for me and still do. I am thankful for your support. I make sure votes are always returned. We are ALL in this together; we need to help each other achieve that. You're ALL truly angels.
