I know everyone on here has a great, convincing story as to why they need a free car. Some people have no family on which to rely because they've passed. Some people are too broke. Some applicants have lost their old cars to accidents. I fit all these categories and then some. I am a mother of a healthy one-year old boy. We lived in Texas, but after I got laid off from my job we moved to Atlanta. So far I haven't had any luck finding a job. I've tried EVERYTHING! I have updated my resume and tweaked and fine-tuned it so many times! I've bought professional suits with pantyhose and heels. I think it might be because of my disheveled look I get from exiting the bus when I get to an interview. After all, pantyhose and humid heat do NOT mix very well. Neither does curly hair and air moisture. Life without a car has been difficult, but not impossible. Just imagine for a moment, having to load all of your groceries onto the bus. Picture yourself and your child waiting in the rain for an hour for your ride to come. Then think about your destination where there is no bus route. You have to walk a mile and a half to the next stop. Now don't get me wrong; I am VERY grateful that public transportation exists for people like me. It's just that life and every day activities would be so much easier with my own vehicle. My son and I could have the AC blowing in our faces while I drive him to daycare, and drive myself to an interview looking preened, pristine and not a nail unclean. Help me out y'all.
