Update 3/31/10: WOW!!! We got the call and picked up our van yesterday. I want to thank you all for your votes. I will start transfering votes as I get them. I am praying for you all and hope that you get the call soon. God bless you all and Charity Cars. Greetings! My husband and I have 3 kids, 2 in high school and one in PreK. We are members of Journey Christian Church where I serve as a leader in the Children’s Ministry, my husband serves as a deacon, and my older kids also serve in the Children’s Ministry. My husband and I also serve other church leaders in the Tres Dias community. I enjoy working with mothers and children and my husband enjoys working in the men’s ministry. As a family team, we regularly serve with Bread of Life, collect donations of furniture, clothing, and other items and sell them to raise money or donate them for local missions and needy families in the community. We voted daily to help Charity Cars raise money with ClickToEmpower and we have even donated a car to a family in need. We are currently storing all the furniture and household items of a single mother who recently lost her home and my husband is facilitating donations of lawn equipment and lawn jobs to help locally unemployed men get side jobs to earn temporary income. We are graduates of the Crown and Dave Ramsey financial ministries and we meet regularly with an Elder to review all our income and expenses. Now we are living debt free (other than our student loans) and highly recommend these classes and a financial mentor for everyone. However, we have a modest income and are on Medicaid and reduced lunches for our children. Our car died and is not worth fixing so we are in desperate need of a car and hope to get a minivan so we can continue shuttling other kids to church functions.
