Hello everyone, my name is Janet Morrison. I have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. I live with my fiance. He has not worked in a year and a half since he was diagnosed with ankylosing spondilitis. This is a rare genetic bone disease similiar to rhuemetoid arthritis where his spine and ribs are fusing together. He needs to have both hips replaced. He has been turned down for Soc Sec Disability twice. I work only part time, as a cake decorator for Cold Stone Creamery, but face it folks, not many ice cream cakes are going out now that the weather is turning colder. My hours are down to 6/wk. Who can live on that? I take the bus to work, and still have to walk about half a mile. Having a car would help find additional work, and get him back and forth to the doctor. We've had a car for the past 3 yrs, but since the August flood, there have been numerous electrical problems, and now it's alarm system disengages the starter and won't recognize the key because it thinks we're trying to steal our own car... go figure! We have been trying to find somewhere else to live since the flood we haven't had electricity in our house and had borrowed a generator, then this past weekend someone broke in and stole the generator. Things keep going from bad to worse, but we try and stay positive and know all things happen for a reason, and these are trials that we must experience. Hang in there everyone. You're in my prayers.
