I am 57 years old moved to Florida 2 years ago because my old son lost his daughter 2 year old daughter due to a tragic accidental drowning. He almost lost his son, I thank God he is ok but DCF took his son, made him sign his rights over. I applied to adopt my grandson because of no work or income I cannot get him. The state will not even grant me State help till I can get on my feet. It is a long story. In short I wrote to the Governer, House of Rep. and the President. They cannot help me. I was to move in with my son but, he lost his place and was living with friends. I could not move with them, his best friend was kind enough to take me in. I cannot find work. My grandson is up for adoption and I cannot afford a lawyer to fight for him. I have no car. I do not even qualify for legal aid lawyer. I am not looking for a hand out just a hand up. I just want to have my grandson here with me. He will be three years old on May 15, 2010 and my heart is breaking. I applied for Social Security Disability due to my back and other things. I am a fighter, I have been through the mill and still try to come back. It is a struggle but, I have faith in God that I will be Blessed with a car and money for a lawyer to obtain my grandson. I gave up everything 2 years ago to be by my sons side through this disaster. I was going to college up north, I had two semesters to go then was going to nursing school. The Community College is about 20 to 30 minutes away and I have no vehicle to finish my college. Now because of my disabilty, I am going for Medical Billing and Coding so I can provide for myself and try for my grandson. I am just heart broken over all of this but God gives me the strength to get through this. I remarried after my children's father. I am now a widow 6 years. My husband was only 47 years old when he passed due to illness. I am a very stong woman but my granddaughter broke the mold. I miss them both greatly.
